Can I delete my data?

Because Cat in a Flat is part of the Rover Group, if you wish to permanently delete your account, you can submit a request through Rover’s Privacy Management Center, or from the Settings page of your account. 

Here are some things to keep in mind before you submit a data deletion request:

  • The deletion process may be completed within 30 days, but we could need additional time as permitted under local regulations. We may retain certain information as required or permitted by law.
  • After your account is deleted, you won’t be able to recover it.
  • You can learn more about your data subject rights by visiting Rover's Privacy Statement.

Note: If you're using the data deletion process to resolve an account issue (like receiving an error message that your phone number or email is already in use), please send a message to our Customer Support team instead. They can provide assistance more quickly for account-related issues.

How to submit a data deletion request

Before you get started, make sure you've disabled any pop-up blockers on the device you're using. Pop-up blockers may prevent certain screens from appearing that you'll need to fill out in order to complete your request.

  1. From your account, click your name, and select Settings from the dropdown menu.
  2. At the bottom of the page, select Delete or deactivate your account.
  3. From the Deactivation and deletion page, scroll down and select the Privacy Management Center button. This should open a pop-up page.
  4. From the Data Rights tab, press Delete your Data and fill out the form, then hit Submit.

From Rover’s Privacy Statement page

  1. From the Rover homepage, navigate to the Your Choices section in the Rover Privacy Statement.
  2. Press the Privacy Management Center button.
  3. From the Data Rights tab, press Delete your Data and fill out the form, then hit Submit.

Next steps

  • You'll receive an email from us asking you to verify your identity before proceeding with data deletion. You have 7 days to complete this request.
  • Once you've verified your identity, our Data Privacy team will review your request and they’ll provide updates via email.
